“Rich. :) it’s one of the more expensive neighborhoods on the North Side; gentrified a couple of decades ago, now heavily populated by young couples who met at frat or sorority functions at various Big Ten schools (in local parlance, we call them Trixies and Chads). Lots of strollers. DePaul’s main campus is right in the middle of the ‘hood, which enhances the collegiate vibe. Lincoln Avenue is lined with sports bars that fill up on weekend nights with guys in backwards ballcaps and striped shirts, trying to get girls in miniskirts and strappy stilettos drunk. It’s a really pretty neighborhood and has every amenity you could ever want. If you can afford it.”
My response to a non-Chicagoan friend’s query: “What is the Lincoln Park area like?”
